Direct Intervention-My office is in Westport, CT (about 1 hour from New York City), where I am able to provide direct listening, speech, and language therapy to children with hearing loss and their families. I also provide auditory (re)habilitation services for teens and adults post- cochlear implant.
Consultative Services-I provide telephone consultation for the purposes of educational planning related to IEPs and 504s, including help with determining best placement, service hours, as well as help with writing/reviewing goals and objectives. I also provide direct services using a consultative model (monthly/bimonthly) providing a therapeutic plan for the upcoming weeks, as well as communicating with your local team regarding short term goals.
Telepractice– Via the Internet, I provide teletherapy, direct services to work on listening, speech and language skills. In 2005, the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) endorsed telepractice stating that “telepractice is an appropriate model of service delivery for the professions of speech-language pathology [and audiology]. Telepractice may be used to overcome barriers of access to services caused by distance, unavailability of specialists and/or subspecialists, and impaired mobility.”
